Healthy Psychology
Dr. Kathy Thomas

My goal is to bring you help, hope and healing to others so that your life can be enjoyed to its fullest extent.

Neuropsychology is a subspecialty of psychology.  It specializes in providing clarity as to how well your brain is working.  The evaluation is comprehensive and is accomplished in part using evidence-based measures that will determine or clarify a diagnosis as well as identify your cognitive (thinking) strengths and weaknesses.  You will feel a greater sense of control and hope moving forward.  I also provide therapy services to individuals, couples and families.  My specialties include depression, anxiety, managing chronic illness, developmental disorders, disability, complex grief, and trauma recovery.

I am a licensed psychologist in Oregon state and a board-certified neuropsychologist. I specialize in the assessment and treatment of conditions that affect both brain and body across the lifespan such as trauma, depression, post-traumatic stress, chronic illness, brain injury, depression, ADHD, anxiety, autism and learning disabilities.

Peace of mind and a restoration of health often requires an exploration of how the mind, body and soul together may be influencing the way a person is thinking, feeling and making choices.  Together we will work on the restoration of your mental health and wellness by using an individualized therapeutic

approach and treatment plan.

I offer neuropsychological evaluations in order to provide insight, information and clarification of a diagnosis.  This includes ruling out conditions such as ADHD, developmental, mood disorder or a learning disability, which can be misdiagnosed without a comprehensive evaluation.   I do not prescribe medications but will work with your referring provider, and/or will guide you toward treatment options and available resources based on your individual need.

Evaluations are face-to-face, take several hours and cost between $1250-$1450,

depending on the time required.  It will include an explanation of results to all involved parties, along with a comprehensive report, diagnosis and helpful recommendations for home (and school, if a minor).

If you are seeking therapy with me, expect that it will involve a combination of evidenced-based treatment methods that are timely and effective such as (but not limited to) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing  (EMDR).

Individual or couples therapy is $150 per hour.  Sliding scale is available, if needed.

My past roles include directorship of Pediatric Neuropsychology Services for Banner Medical Group in Phoenix, Arizona, past-president of the Arizona Neuropsychological Society and associate professorship at the University of Arizona Medical School.  In addition to meeting with individual clients and couples, I enjoy teaching graduate courses and doing volunteer work.
